The Citizens Theatre Glasgow was first called Her Majesty's Theatre (1878) then subject to a name change 'Royal Princess' Theatre' (1880). In 1945 it opened under a new name - Citizens' Theatre. With a policy of low pricing and accessibility for all, the Citizens Theatre has always been Glasgow's true community venue.
