The Gallery has had a new look and opened on 11th July 2006 after magnificent 3 year £27.9million refurbishment programme. The large and imposing Victorian red sandstone building that houses an amazing collection of exhibits is one of Glasgow’s great landmarks. There is an ever changing array of objects on display as well as the usual dinosaurs, stunning suites of armour and fearsome weaponry, and lots of treasures from throughout the world including Salvador Dali's iconic 'Christ of St John of the Cross’.

The re-designing of the original galleries to be more informative and engaging for all ages. There will be a Formal Educational Space for children and Childrens' Discovery Centres - Kelvingrove has the reputation of being the most popular tourist attraction in Scotland and is well loved by the people of Glasgow.

Like all of Glasgow's civic museums and galleries, admission to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is free.

Opening Hours:
Monday to Thursday and Saturday: 10.00am - 5.00pm.
Friday and Sunday: 11.00am - 5.00pm.
Closed - 25th, 26th, 31st December, & 1st, 2nd January.

Location:
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is located in Kelvin Park in the West End of the city.
Bus: First Services 9, 16, 18/A, 42/A and 62 all stop directly outside Kelvingrove Museum.
Train: Five minutes walk from Partick Rail Station and ten minutes' walk from Charing Cross Rail Station.
