Clydebuilt Maritime Heritage Centre
The Cyldebuilt Maritime Heritage Centre - takes each visitor through 300 years of history of the River Clyde and those involved with it. Located on the southern banks of the River Clyde, at the Braehead Centre in Glasgow, this vibrant attraction brings to life the story of Glasgow's development from the “Tobacco Lords” in 1700's through to the 21st century. The centre highlights the history of the city, in particular how the "Tobacco Lords" and shipbuilding industry moulded the city.
Designed to educate all ages; Visitors can try their hand as a 17th Century trader, load their own cargo or have a go at piloting a Clyde ship with our special hands on displays. The museum allows children to steer their own ship through the virtual world of a river pilot. Don't forget to visit MV Kyles, the oldest Clyde built ship still afloat in the UK, built in 1863, which is now permanently moored on the River Clyde at Braehead.
