- Many Iranian Men Enjoy playing sports when not working, The most popular sport in Iran is football (soccer). Many Iran athletes take part in the European leagues. Other Iran Sports include, volleyball, basketball, swimming, fencing, horseback riding and wrestling.

The Iranian women enjoy watching sports Football in general. There are a few Iranian female athletes continue to compete in international competitions, particularly in the areas of shooting, fencing and archery.

Sports for tourist can in include Water-Skiing, Winter Sports, Fishing, swimming, Horseracing, Polo, Climbing, Tennis, Golf, Hang-gliding and Skiing - Snowboarding ( alborz mountains, North of Tehran.)

Winter Sports in Iran
- The skiing season is from January to March in the Alborz Mountains. Resorts include Abe Ali, 62km (38 miles) east of Tehran; the Noor Slope, 71km (44 miles) from the capital; Shemshak, 59km (37 miles) from Tehran, and Dizine near the town of Gatchsar. Equipment for hire and all the usual winter sports facilities are available.

Trekking: People Suggest the Alborz Mountains, (north of Tehran) and also the Caspian Sea Rock climbing and Mountain climbing is recommended.

Skiing: Skiing in Iran is becoming popular among wealthier Iranians, and foreigners who appreciate that this is one of the least expensive skiing destinations in the world. Shemshak, only a couple of hours from Tehran, is a good base for downhill skiing; cross-country skiing is possible around Kalardasht in Mazandaran province.
