What is the dress code for men and women in Iran?

Visitors should observe the Islamic clothing rules. Women are kindly requested to cover their bodies and their hair in public. Only the face and the hands may be visible. So it is best to wear a head scarf.
What are the business hours for restaurants in Iran?

Street restaurants are different from hotels and work between 9.OO AM to 12.3O PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Can I use my cellular phone in Iran ?
- No, because presently only domestic mobile phones which are operating on a system other than satellite can be used here.
Can I visit a Holy Shrine without being dressed in the Islamic dress code?
- For visiting a Holy Shrine the dress code for both men and women should be a modest one. Ladies are requested to wear a head scarf. Only hands and face may be visible.
Can I enter a Mosque or a Shrine with my shoes?
- You may enter with shoes only in the parts which have no carpets. If the site is covered with carpet then you should take off your shoes.
Can I eat in public during the day in the fasting month?

As a sign of respect it is recommended to observe the fasting rules and not to eat in public (restaurants in hotels are the exception to this rule and you may have your meal in those restaurants during the day).
Can women swim in public pools and in the sea?

Both for public swimming pools and for the sea women are only allowed to swim in the women's sections which are separated from the men's sections. In this regard most swimming pools have two sections .
What can't I take into iran? Passengers entering Iran are prohibited from carrying alcoholic beverage, guns, narcotics, ammunition, obscene articles and publications.
What Language do they Speak?
Persian (Farsi) is the most widely spoken language. Arabic is spoken in Khuzestan in the southwest, and Turkish in the northwest around Tabriz. English, French and (to a lesser extent) German are spoken by many businessmen and officials.
What currency do they use? Iranian Rials. Notes are in denominations of RL 10000, 5000, 2000, 1000, 500, 200 and 100. Coins are in denominations of 250, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5.All foreign currencies such as Deutsch Marks, Pound Sterling, US Dollars and Yens can be exchanged and credit cards (Mastercard & Visa) are also accepted.
